Introducing Snugglettes - The Snuggie for Children

I have written hubs previously related to the Snuggie, the blanket with Sleeves. If you are unfamiliar with the Snuggie, here is the original commercial.

The Snuggie has become a pop culture sensation, appearing in major publications, television shows, and being the punch line almost nightly in Jay Leno's monologues. While the Snuggie was originally marketed as one-size-fits-all, it obviously did not fit children well.

Enter the Snugglette. The Snugglette is a Snuggie for kids. There are two colors available for the kids at this time - Pink and Blue. Whereas the Snuggie came with a complimentary booklight, the Snugglette comes with a pair of matching slipper socks.

The Snugglette commercials began airing in late February of 2009. Its first major exposure was on the Oprah Winfrey show on March 6, 2009. Oprah wore a Pink Snugglette on that episode while she interviewed All Star Marketing Group CEO, Scott Boilen (aka Mr. Snuggie). Sitting beside Oprah was Tyler Perry in a Designer Zebra Snuggie, as well as other guests wearing various colored Snuggies.

The Snugglette is hitting the sweet spot for parents who have loved the Snuggie, but felt that it swallowed their children. Now they can outfit their kids in a properly sized Snugglette. My own sons ask (beg) often to sleep in their Snugglettes, so they are suitable for sleepwear as well.

As someone with several Snuggie related websites, I have noticed that adults are purchasing Snugglettes for themselves. The original Snuggie is designed more for lying on a couch and is difficult to walk in, if you venture out in public. For those who wish to wear a Snuggie in public, many are opting for the smaller sized Snuggie. This way, not only are their arms able to move freely, but they won't trip on their Snuggie (which can be quite embarrassing in public - I speak from experience).

As hard as this may be for some to believe, there are dozens of Snuggie Pub Crawls sweeping the nation. As I write this on April 15, 2009, there have already been twenty Snuggie Pub Crawls. There are currently 7 cities (that I know of) that are scheduled to host Snuggie Pub Crawls this weekend on April 18. Many adults at these public events are opting for the Snugglette, so they can walk freely from pub to pub.

There are Snuggie Pub Crawls scheduled well into the fall of this year. I anticipate that we will see Snugglettes in places that All Star Marketing Group never imagined. Whether the Snugglettes are for you or your kids is up to you to decide. All I know is that we are in for many curious Snugglette Sightings in the very near future. Brace yourselves.
